Around 7 months ago, not long after I moved to the area, I first met Glen and Karen from RushFit. At that time I weighed the heaviest I had been in my life, was always tired and lethargic and like many people had all the excuses under the sun as to why I didn’t have time or the energy to do anything about it. After talking to Karen I undertook to do a month’s Body Camp and 1 Personal Training session per week.
Whilst the 6am starts three mornings per week for Body Camp were initially a shock to the system, I quickly found myself looking forward to the sessions given the lift exercising gave me for the remainder of the day and the camaraderie that was there with my fellow” campers”. Fair to say that there is no “gym junkie” egos present in this group rather good natured banter and encouragement. Now I cannot see myself not incorporating Body Camp as part of my weekly routine.
Complimenting Body Camp was the PT session where I was introduced to all sorts of strength and flexibility regimes I did not know existed, This one hour per week assisted me greatly with technique and understanding of my body. Again the PT sessions are not all intimidating and certainly tailored to where you as an individual are up to.
In summary 7 months or so down the track, I have lost around 20 kilos and fit into clothes I had written off as being too small, And almost as good as that is the fact that I have met a great bunch of people who enjoy the challenge of battling kettle bells, skipping ropes, boxing gloves and the odd short run as they endeavour to meet their individual goals in a non-intimidating setting.
